In 2025, Southern Charter refined its reporting to better reflect what our pilots are doing day-to-day. Several full-size simulator accounts had been logging large numbers of short training cycles, so these were removed from the roster to keep our public stats representative of human pilot operations.
2025 (human pilots only):
920 flights logged
1,058,751 nautical miles flown
~2,414 flight hours
75 aircraft types operated
Typical mission profile: ~1,151 NM and ~2h 37m
~18.5% of flights conducted on company routes
These numbers highlight what SCX is about: a diverse fleet, meaningful missions, and pilots flying a wide range of operations across the network.
As the year draws to a close, we want to pause and reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for Southern Charter (SCX) — and, more importantly, to recognise the people and platforms that have made it possible.
SCX continues to grow not because of automation or scale alone, but because of a passionate community committed to realism, variety of operations, and flying beyond the ordinary.
Powering SCX: FSHub
A cornerstone of Southern Charter’s success is the work of Bobby Allen and the team at FSHub. Their continued development and support of the FSHub platform is what makes the virtual airline side of SCX viable in the first place.
From flight tracking to operational flexibility, FSHub provides the backbone that allows Southern Charter to operate as a truly global, multi-discipline organisation. We are immensely grateful for their dedication and ongoing innovation.
The SCX Community
Southern Charter is nothing without its people.
To our pilots, truck drivers, train drivers, and sailors — thank you for the countless hours you have logged this year across air, road, rail, and sea. Every flight completed, every haul delivered, and every voyage undertaken contributes to the character, realism, and scale of SCX.
Your commitment is what transforms SCX from a network on paper into a living, evolving operation.
Special Recognition: Captain Alister Curnow
This year, we would like to give special recognition to Captain Alister Curnow for his exceptional contribution to Southern Charter.
Captain Curnow undertook the enormous task of rebuilding the entire SCX airline route structure from the ground up — a complex and time-consuming effort that has reshaped how the airline operates and expanded the realism and depth of our network.
In recognition of this tireless work and outstanding dedication, we are proud to announce that Captain Alister Curnow has been promoted to SCX Chief Pilot.
Congratulations, Alister — and thank you for the impact you’ve had on SCX.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the new year, Southern Charter remains committed to:
Global reach
Non-standard and expedition-style operations
Operational realism
A strong, engaged community
We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved this year and excited for what lies ahead.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year — here’s to an even bigger year ahead for SCX. 🎄✈️
Southern Charter operates one of the most diverse networks in virtual aviation, connecting 236 destinations across 88 countries worldwide.
With a strong foundation in the South Pacific and extensive coverage across North America, Europe, and remote regions, over 75% of our network is international. This reflects our focus on long-range charter, logistics, and expedition-style operations rather than traditional hub-and-spoke airline flying.
From major international gateways to some of the world’s most isolated airfields, Southern Charter specialises in non-standard routes, challenging environments, and global reach — offering our pilots a level of variety and realism rarely found elsewhere.
These statistics highlight not just the scale of our operation, but the philosophy behind it: global access, operational flexibility, and flying beyond the ordinary.
